NEW YOUTH FITNESS, FITNESS NUTRITION SPECIALTY CERTIFICATIONS

We know fitness professionals can stand out from the crowd by finding a niche in their market.  ACE wants to help you do that, which is why we’ve introduced two new specialty certifications that focus on Youth Fitness and Fitness Nutrition.

Becoming a Fitness Nutrition Specialist will give you the expertise to provide scientifically supported, practical and relevant nutrition advice to your clients while staying within your scope of practice. You’ll learn how to communicate food selection and preparation, and how to teach clients to read nutrition labels and choose meals that facilitate weight loss, improve athletic performance and meet special dietary needs.

As a Youth Fitness Specialist, you will develop the knowledge and skills you need to create customized and organized fitness programs for children and teens. The curriculum, which could also help youth sports coaches, parents and professionals in health care or recreation, covers motor development, pediatric exercise physiology, growth-related differences in abilities, resistance and cardiorespiratory training, and integration of health- and skill-related activities into fitness programs.

For health and fitness professionals, the Fitness Nutrition and Youth Fitness Specialty Certifications are each equivalent to 2.5 ACE CECs (2.50 ACSM) or 25 hours of professional education.

Please note that Specialty Certifications are intended to complement the education you already have and do not replace any of our primary NCCA-accredited certifications.
