When you consider that 45 million Americans each year spend $33 billion on weight-loss products, it’s easy to see that people are searching for ways to drop fat and attain better health. The problem comes in the old adage that “calories in,” “calories out” is the way to go. In this course, led by registered dietitian Justin Robinson, you’ll learn why that principle is outdated and how weight management is actually related to three factors: our intake, storage and output. Participants will also explore an updated perspective on what it takes to lose body fat, increase lean body mass and reduce risk of disease.

You will learn:

  • How nutrient density and caloric density influences energy intake
  • How to regulate hormones that control fat storage
  • The most effective energy expenditure exercise methods
  • Practical nutrition recommendations to incorporate into your practice

Reviews

As a registered dietitian, I found this presentation to be very balanced and provided practical examples for fitness professionals with regard to general nutrition within their scope of practice. I appreciated the emphasis on encouraging "real food" and few added ingredients. The perspective on "Calories in, calories out" was addressed both practically and scientifically.

It's useful for me.
