Help clients unlock their speed potential
Speed training is often associated with the development of high-performance athletes, but it can be beneficial for everyone. To achieve positive gains, the key is focusing on the relationship between strength and speed—and more specifically functional strength training.
Led by Michael Piercy, MS, ACE Certified Personal Trainer and Health Coach and founder of The LAB Performance & Sports Science, this course will provide you with a framework for applying functional strength training to your sessions. You’ll learn about the components of an effective speed strength program and how to create or modify workouts to improve speed.
Go beyond drills and running form assessments, and dive into the intricacies of speed and strength. Equipped with practical application techniques, you’ll design purposeful programs for optimal results and help your clients boost speed and movement efficiency.
Upon completion, you will be able to:
-
Define the relationship between strength and speed in athletic performance
-
Identify key physiological mechanisms through which strength contributes to enhanced speed
-
Develop a comprehensive speed strength program with exercises specifically targeted at building functional strength for speed improvement
