About
Damien A. Joyner has a lifelong passion for fitness and athletics. Professionally, his goal is to safely challenge clients in the gym so everyday life and any physical work demands are less of a challenge. Originally from Chicago, Damien moved to San Diego in 2007 for law school but chose to follow his passion to pursue a personal training career. Certified by the American Council on Exercise, Damien founded Incremental Fitness and specializes in helping active aging adults move better in the gym so they can enjoy the quality of life that they deserve. He helps clients understand the connection between exercise and daily life so programming that includes balance training, strength training, and functional movements with more optimal alignment helps them live their best lives with confidence and independence. He also is proud to be a Health Coach for the WorkStrong Program at the University of California, San Diego, using corrective exercise techniques. There he helps employees that were injured on the job return to work stronger, more confident, adopt more optimal posture, and also practice more self-care. In his spare time, aside from training for competitive events, he enjoys hiking, cooking, and road trips to explore California as well as to his special place, Grand Canyon.
