Creating an Inclusive Environment as a Business Owner
This training is part of our Taking Action with ACE series. Be sure to check out Taking Action With ACE: Practicing Equity, Diversity and Inclusion as a Health and Exercise Professional (FREE to ACE Certified Pros) and Taking Action with ACE: Practicing Equity, Diversity and Inclusion as a Fitness Manager, which are recommended for all health and fitness leaders in any role.
With the goal of giving individuals and communities access to health and fitness programming that positively impacts their lives, it’s time to start taking action to ensure all participants in the fitness industry have equal access and feel welcome in every environment. Business owners have a major influence on the fitness industry and are therefore well-positioned to play a major role in creating a more inclusive fitness culture.
As a fitness business owner, fostering an environment in which every client and employee feels valued and included is not just the right thing to do, it can also help you grow your business, allowing you to reach a more diverse clientele. In order to create an environment that is fun, motivating, and sustainable for all, it’s critical to focus on improving equity, diversity and inclusion in your business. In this video training, you will deep dive into why business owners in our industry will benefit from a greater understanding of inclusivity, bias and opinions, so they can learn to be more welcoming and open.
Join fitness and wellness leader, Kia Williams, MS, ACE Certified Group Fitness Instructor, Global Presenter, and Wellness Chair of the NAACP, Fort Worth-Tarrant County Chapter, as she shares and encourages responsible fitness business practices that can make fitness truly inclusive and accessible. As a result, you will continue to expand your brand reach, improve member retention, and discover greater community support and engagement.
Upon completion, you will be able to:
- Define how equity, diversity, and inclusion impact your role as a business owner
- Evaluate and challenge your existing processes, protocols, and efficiencies of supporting diversity in your business and service
- Understand important guidelines for approaching conversations around topics of equity, diversity, and inclusion in the health and fitness industry
- Create truly inclusive and equitable spaces based on insights from case studies that will accelerate learning
- Discover the immeasurable value of celebrating, amplifying, and protecting diversity, equity, and inclusion in your business
Reviews
Some of the info. in this course is outdated. Covid raised its head 3-4 years ago. I think a better approach is to include everyone and make everyone feel valued, respected and included. Instead of coming at a from a different angle of bias.
This was a great overview with actionable content for getting started implementing more DEI as a business owner
