About
In addition to being am an ACE Certified Personal Trainer, I also have an Senior Fitness Certificate issue by ACE and also a Certificate in Functional Fitness from Exercise Inc. I specialize in helping those with Alzheimer's and their Caregivers to fine exercise plans to help slow additional memory loss. I understand the special needs of working with individuals with Alzheimer's. I know we cannot stop completely the progression of this disease, but using exercise has been shown to have benefits. Increased blood flow to the brain and slowing muscle degeneration are important benefits of Exercise. But not all the benefits can be measured. With Alzhiemer's "staying even" can be viewed as a benefit. There is also the satisfaction of "doing something" and not simply giving up. The social interaction also has benefits. The caregiver also needs to remember to take time for themselves. While it may feel that time is the one thing you do not have enough of, taking time to yourself can help the caregiver both physically and mentally.
