About
Leifann Brownstein, MA, NCPT, enjoys helping others discover the restorative properties of good movement. She discovered her passion for Pilates through the struggle to deal with debilitating back problems. Leifann started practicing Pilates in 2004 and through her Pilates training, she found she was able to blend her mind-body practices of martial arts (Ki-Aikido) while gaining amazing strength and alignment from Pilates. She completed her mat and equipment teacher training from Pilates Unlimited in June 2006, was nationally certified by the Pilates Method Alliance (PMA) in 2008. She then earned a group fitness instructor status from ACE. Leifann has also completed the Balanced Body Instructor training in both CoreAlign and Bodhi. She has served as a faculty adjunct instructor at Arizona State University (ASU) in core strength & agility, yoga, and Pilates. Leifann went on to complete training in the Anat Baniel Method of NeuroMovement. It is a holistic approach that uses movement to help upgrade the functioning of the brain. And this in turn helps people learn and think better, overcome pain, and move better. NeuroMovement is notably effective in helping people with movement disorders achieve new levels of performance. She is certified to teach both Transformational Movement Lessons (TML) and Functional Synthesis (FS) NeuroMovent lessons for both adults and children with special needs. In order to best teach others, Leifann has continued her education in the Franklin Method. She has become a Level 2 Franklin Method Educator. With these tools, she is better able to help clients embody their movement to help them help themselves. To continue to help her clients and herself, she obtained training as a level 2 MELT instructor. MELT uses balls and soft foam roller to become a "hands off" bodyworker on yourself. Leifann continues to study how movement profoundly heals, beyond the physical body and shares these insights with others.
