If there is one thing that exercise professionals and health coaches are passionate about, it’s physical activity.
Movement has the potential to transform lives, improve communities, and make the world a healthier place for everyone. That’s why the American Council on Exercise is designating this month as Get Moving May.
This is part of an overall effort to bring greater awareness to the many benefits of physical activity, and movement in general, including a reduction in physical-inactivity related diseases like obesity and diabetes, as well as the less-discussed benefits of greater creativity and increased productivity.
Whether it’s gardening, dance, playing with children (or grandchildren), taking a yoga class or even just walking outdoors to enjoy some fresh air, finding joy in physical activity is what makes it a sustainable practice.
Use this May to find inspiration in movement, in whatever form it takes, and help inspire your clients and the community find the right activity for them.
